This upgrade project was for a municipal waste water plant located in Songjiang District in Shanghai. Waste water was required to meet the Class I A limits of the Municipal Sewage Treatment Plant Pollutant Discharge Standard (GB18918-2002). A Class 1 groundwater environmental assessment was conducted, since the site is located in the Quasi Water Source Conservation Area. Accordingly, our analysis concentrated on engineering, impact on groundwater and pollution control measures.
